Princess Anne unveils the statue in Banbury
Princess Anne unveils the statue in the town on Wednesday
A large sculpture of a lady on a horse based on the nursery rhyme "Ride a cock horse to Banbury Cross...", has been unveiled by Princess Anne.

Residents of Banbury, Oxfordshire, voted for the artwork after the town was left a £25,000 legacy, which later sparked a £170,000 appeal.

The elegant horsewoman was designed by an artists collective called Artcycle.

Beneath the statue, on a 2ft Horton stone and bronze plinth, are scattered flowers and the nursery rhyme's words.
