Residents campaign to save pool
Abingdon pool
Protestors do not want to see the pool filled in
A six-thousand-signature petition to save a popular outdoor swimming pool is being handed over to council representatives on Friday.

Residents are trying to block moves to fill in Abingdon pool and build a water feature over the site.

The campaigners, who have won the support of Olympic gold medallist Duncan Goodhew, launched a campaign to raise £40,000 to open the pool.

Eventually, they aim to raise £1m to ensure the future of the pool.

The petition is to be handed over to the leader of the Vale of White Horse District Council.
