Rally over student's deportation
Wali and Azim Ansari
The brothers fled the Taliban in Afghanistan
Supporters of an Afghani Oxford University student set to be deported from the UK have held a rally to highlight his case.

First-year engineering student Azim Ansari and his brother Wali fled the Taliban - arriving in the UK in 2002.

But they have now been ordered to leave the country within the next fortnight.

Organisers of Saturday's rally outside Balliol College in Oxford, say the pair face persecution if they are sent back to Afghanistan.

Azim and his brother are Hazaras, an ethnic minority in Afghanistan who were brutally persecuted by the Taliban.

They fled the country in 2001 and finally ended up in Britain.

During his time in the UK, Azim gained two As and a B in physics, maths and computing at the City of Bristol College before landing a place at Oxford.
