There will be a harvest thanksgiving service during the festival
A traditional festival to celebrate the autumn harvest is being brought back to life at an Oxfordshire museum.

Cogges Manor Farm Museum is hosting the event, which will include an old-fashioned fete with stalls selling hand made soap and corn dolly charms.

Visitors will be able to make peg dolls and take part in traditional games such as tabletop skittles or apple bobbing.

A thanksgiving service will also be held in the farm's wheat barn as part of the celebrations on 2 and 3 October.

The service is being led by Rev Andrew Sweeney from the village church of St. Mary's in Cogges.

Assistant museum manager, Victoria Beaumont, said: "Our Harvest Wekend is particularly special as it recreates an essential part of life for people living in rural Oxfordshire in days gone by."
