The event aims to "break down barriers", according to organisers
Over-50s who want to find out more about using the internet are invited to a 'silver surfers' event in Oxfordshire.

Experts will be showing how to get started on the web and use it to do things like order shopping, book holidays or research a family tree.

There will be two sessions, running from 1000-1200 BST and then 1400-1600 BST at the county council Record Office in Cowley, Oxford, on 21 May.

The event is organised as part of Oxfordshire's Adult Learners Week.

Councillor Neil Fawcett, who is helping spearhead the week, said: "People from more mature generations often miss out on the benefits the internet can bring.

"This event aims to break down any barriers and to show people over 50 just how easy it is to make the internet work for you."

The Record Office is at St Luke's Church, Temple Road, Cowley.
