Education revamp for coach house
Oxfordshire Museum
An old coach house at the museum will become an education centre
An old coach house is to become a flagship museum education centre for visitors thanks to a £600,000 revamp.

The new centre at the Oxfordshire Museum in Woodstock will be used by schools and offer sensory learning facilities to people with disabilities.

The scheme, which is backed by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Friends of Oxfordshire Museum, will also pay for an education officer.

Work to convert the coach house will begin on Monday, 6 September.

A spokeswoman for Oxfordshire County Council said: "The new education facility means many more people in the county will be able to learn about Oxfordshire's cultural and environmental heritage.

"The decoration and equipping of the new space has been planned in consultation with children and adults.

"The colour scheme has been designed by children from the museum's art and craft club."
