Man charged over Nottinghamshire village shooting

A 31-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after two men were injured in a shooting in a Nottinghamshire village.

The injured men, aged 41 and 47, have both been discharged from hospital after the incident outside the Star Inn in Nottingham Road, Gotham, on Monday.

Jody Russell, of Briscoe Avenue, Loughborough, has been charged with two counts of attempted murder.

He has also been charged with intent to endanger life with a firearm.

A 41-year-old man from Beeston who was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Three other men who were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder have been released without charge.
