Asbestos alert over copper thefts

Thieves have been told they may have exposed themselves to asbestos after stealing copper piping from a skip in Nottinghamshire.

The theft took place on Coventry Road, Bulwell between Monday evening and Tuesday morning.

The copper was in a skip which was being used by contractors who were demolishing a former health centre.

The thieves cut the lock on the skip which was sealed to protect members of the public from asbestos dust.

They are being urged to seek medical advice as soon as possible.
