Family rescued from fire at house

A family have had to be rescued after a fire started at a house in Nottinghamshire.

The fire began at the property on Sixth Avenue, in Forest Town, at about 0320 GMT.

Two adults, two children and a cat were lowered to safety by firefighters. They were treated in hospital for smoke inhalation.

Police and fire crews were carrying out investigations at the scene to establish the cause of the fire.
