Terraced house 'gutted' by flames

Emergency crews have been called to the scene of a serious house fire in Nottingham.

Eye-witnesses said a terraced house in Godfrey Street in Netherfield had been completely gutted by the flames and the roof had collapsed into the building.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were using a turntable ladder and jets to control the fire.

They were called out just before 2000 GMT on Friday. Nobody is believed to have been injured.

The damaged house is thought to have been undergoing renovation.
