Rail station to get improvements

At least £10m could be invested in improvements at Nottingham station, Network Rail has confirmed.

Some of the cash has already been spent on measures including the refurbishment of the passenger footbridge and new ticket vending machines.

But there are also plans for better CCTV, a new car park and new passenger information screens.

Passengers will get a chance to say how the money should be spent between now and 2014.

The improvements form part of a national five-year £3.25bn programme of investment affecting more than 2,000 stations in the UK.
