Fall in fly-tipping highlighted

There has been a fall in fly-tipping in the Broxtowe area of Nottinghamshire, year-on-year figures show.

There were 23 reports of fly-tipping in August compared to 50 in August 2008, said Broxtowe Borough Council.

The authority said this was partly down to the recession, as less business waste is being thrown away.

The council, whose main towns are Beeston, Kimberley, Stapleford and Eastwood, said householders also have a duty to dispose of rubbish properly.
