Mother and son escape house fire

A woman and a teenager have escaped from a fire at a house in Nottingham.

Crews were called to Shacklock Close in Rise Park in the early hours of the morning and found the property well alight.

An investigation has begun but it is believed the flames spread from a car on the driveway of the property.

Fire officers said the woman and her 16-year-old son fled through the back door but the roof and top bedroom of the house have been destroyed.
