Man seriously injured in assault

A 32-year-old man suffered serious head injuries in an attack in Nottinghamshire.

Police said the victim was assaulted by a man on Huntingdon Street, opposite Beck Street, in Nottingham at about 0210 BST on Sunday.

He was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre where his condition was described as "critical" on Monday.

No arrests have been made and the area was cordoned off until Monday morning. Witnesses were urged to contact police.
