Katherine Cooke is looking for a new home for Elvis
|
The owner of a cockerel in Nottinghamshire has begun a search for a new home for the animal after the last of his harem died. Elvis had lived with four hens at his home in Ravenshead but was left alone with one named Berol after the other three were killed by rats. His owner Katherine Cooke, 32, said Berol had recently been put to sleep due to exhaustion. She said she now wants to find a new home for Elvis. Mrs Cooke said: "Elvis is a young, fit cockerel and he wants what all cockerels want, a new group of ladies. "Berol was certainly then the centre of his attention and perhaps she became a little bit sex-pestered. "Elvis is very, very noisy. I want to try and find a new home but it's quite difficult because I don't want to get him an Asbo."
