Woman, 70, is hit in face at home

A 70-year-old woman has been punched in the face by a man who demanded money from her at her Nottingham home.

The offender entered the house at Trentham Gardens, Aspley, while she and her husband were in bed on Monday.

Police said he confronted the woman before grappling with her 68-year-old husband.

Officers said he then left the scene in a dark coloured car driven by an accomplice. The couple were left bruised and shaken after the incident.

The offender is described as white, aged between late teens and early twenties and was wearing a dark coloured top.

Officers have urged anyone with information to come forward.
