Teenager critical after stabbing

An 18-year-old man is critically ill in hospital after a stabbing at a home in Nottingham.

Police cordoned off a second house in the Bestwood area after the attack early on Saturday.

Forensic examinations were taking place at a property on Gainsford Crescent, but a cordon around a property on Teviot Road itself has been removed.

Police think the victim knew whoever attacked him and it may have been planned and appealed for witnesses.

Police were called to the property at around 0230 BST on Saturday and found the victim with stab wounds.

He was taken to Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre (QMC).

Officers have been conducting house-to-house inquiries and viewed CCTV footage.

High visibility patrols have also been deployed in the area to reassure the public, police said.
