OBE for Slimming World's creator

The woman who founded weight loss club Slimming World is among the Nottinghamshire people recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours.

Margaret Miles-Bramwell, who founded the organisation in 1969 when she was 21, has been appointed OBE.

GP and obesity specialist Dr Ian Campbell has been appointed MBE for services to healthcare.

For voluntary service to youth justice in Nottingham, William Davis has also been appointed MBE.

Among other community figures to be appointed MBE in the county are Brenda Davies, for services to the community in Erewash, Lillian Forster, for voluntary service to Edgewood Primary School and Keith Meakin, for his work with the British Limbless Ex-Service Men's Association.
