Man admits drink-drive fatality

A 24-year-old Derbyshire man has pleaded guilty to causing the death of an 88-year-old woman who was killed crossing a Nottinghamshire road.

Hilda Jepson, from Huthwaite, was knocked over by a car on Sutton Road in the village on 17 May.

Lee Pell, of Pinxton, admitted causing death by driving without due care while under the influence of alcohol.

Pell, of Church St West, appeared at Nottingham Crown Court and was warned he faced a prison sentence.
