Man remanded in 1983 death case

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder 26 years ago of a teenager whose case was the first to be featured on BBC One's Crimewatch.

Colette Aram, 16, disappeared on 30 October 1983 and her body was found in a field the following day.

Paul Stewart Hutchinson, 50, of Stockgill Close, Gamston, West Bridgford, appeared before Nottingham Magistrates' Court.

No plea was entered and he was remanded in custody until 23 April.

No application for bail was made.
