Cautions over motorcycle checks

Eight people have been cautioned as part of a police clampdown on people illegally riding motorbikes in Nottinghamshire.

Faults on the vehicles were uncovered during roadside checks on the A616 Worksop Road, in Ollerton, on Sunday.

During the operation, 95 vehicles were examined and one was seized and its rider reported for having no insurance.

Sgt John Madin said: "We want to ensure all motorcycles are in a roadworthy condition and are being used legally."

Sgt Madin added: "If people ride these vehicles without insurance or a licence they will lose them.

"We want people to be safe on our roads and hope operations like these will help achieve that."
