A man has died in an incident at a house in Nottingham.

Police were called to Heathfield Road, in Old Basford, at around 1400 GMT after reports of a disturbance.

A man found injured at the scene was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre but was pronounced dead. A post-mortem examination is to due be carried out.

A man in his early 20s was arrested in connection with the incident. The house was cordoned off for forensic investigations.

Forensic analysis

Heathfield Road remained closed on Friday afternoon, police said.

More than a dozen officers patrolled the street while forensic science experts examined the house.

Ch Insp Matthew McFarlane said: "We've been doing house-to-house inquiries in the area and we've started our forensic analysis of the address.

"We're waiting for the post mortem to tell exactly what the cause of death was...

"What we want to do is get all the information we can an if anybody does have any information in terms of what happened, if they could pass that through to us it'll help our investigations obviously."
