Man charged over serious assault

A 22-year-old has been charged after a serious attack on a man in Nottingham.

Officers were called to the Hurts Yard area of the city at about 0430 GMT on Saturday where they found the man with serious injuries.

He was taken to hospital and Nottinghamshire Police say he remains in a serious condition.

Jermaine Williams, 22, of Independent Street, Radford, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and was remanded in custody.

He is due to appear before Nottingham magistrates on Tuesday.
