Plea for more help for homeless

A homeless charity is calling for more support for people living on the streets in Nottinghamshire.

Framework, which helps homeless people, has been running a temporary shelter in Mansfield since Christmas.

The shelter, running for the past four winters, has been full almost every night since it opened but will close its doors in March.

Wendy Marshall, the support worker in charge overnight at the Sherwood Street Centre, said more support was needed.

She said: "It's important the shelter's here, it's providing a really good service. It should be all year round but still it's doing a good job."
