Four charged over dead gamekeeper

Nigel Bacon died from stab wounds to his upper body

The wife and son of a gamekeeper stabbed to death at his remote bungalow have appeared in court charged with his murder, along with two other men.

Nigel Bacon, 50, died in hospital after being found with stab wounds on the drive of Keepers's Cottage near Clumber Park in Nottinghamshire on 26 November.

Susan Bacon, 54, Michael Bacon, 20, Peter Jacques, 28, and Shaun Woodcock, 41, have all been charged with murder.

They appeared at Mansfield Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Mr Bacon, also known as Neil, was a part-time gamekeeper who also ran a security business.

A post-mortem examination carried out at Leicester Royal Infirmary showed he died of stab wounds to the upper body.

Mrs Bacon, of Keepers Cottage, and Mr Bacon, 20, of Wordsworth Avenue, Mansfield Woodhouse, appeared at the court along with Mr Jacques, 28, of Charlesworth Street, Bolsover, and Mr Woodcock, 41, who is Michael Bacon's father-in-law, of Mapletoft Avenue, Mansfield Woodhouse.

None entered a plea to the offence of murder and they were remanded into custody. They are to due to appear before Nottingham Crown Court on 19 December.
