Police officers
Armed officers were called to the scene of the siege

A man who threatened to blow up his home during a 24-hour siege on the Bestwood Estate in Nottingham has been jailed for 21 months.

Kevin Warsop, 39, admitted making threats to kill and threatening to damage property during the stand-off on 10 September.

The Bestwood man was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court.

Officers from Nottinghamshire Police forced entry to a house on Raymede Drive in Bestwood to end the siege.

No-one was injured in the incident, which forced the temporary closure of a road and a school in the area.
