Bus station plans go on display

A Nottinghamshire bus station is getting an £850,000 upgrade to improve its facilities.

The Sutton-in-Ashfield bus station will be refurbished by Nottinghamshire County Council early in 2009, with work expected to be completed in the spring.

Plans for the project will be on display at Idlewells Shopping Centre in the town in early December.

The work will include improved CCTV and lighting, electronic timetables, litter bins and cycle stands.

Councillor Stella Smedley said the work will ensure the station is "brighter, smarter and more easier to use".
