Scooter man hurt in lorry crash

A man in his 70s is in hospital with serious injuries after his mobility scooter was involved in an accident with a lorry.

The crash happened at midday on Mile End Road in Colwick near Nottingham.

The man was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre for treatment. Police have appealed for witnesses.

The scooter was close to a pedestrian crossing at the junction of First Avenue and Colwick Loop Road when the collision took place.

The driver of the lorry was not injured but left shaken by the incident.
