A murder investigation is under way after a 20-year-old man was found stabbed to death in a city centre flat in Nottingham.

Police were called to the flat above the Orange Tree pub on North Sherwood Street at 1815 BST on Friday where they found the body of Matthew James Pyke.

Forensic investigators are examining the scene and detectives are carrying out house-to-house inquiries.

A small section of road around the pub remained cordoned off on Sunday.

A post mortem examination found Mr Pyke died from stab wounds.

Detectives said they believed the offender, or offenders, would have been heavily blood-stained when they left the flat, where the victim lived.
