A talent show is being planned in memory of the murdered Nottingham teenager Danielle Beccan.
Teenagers will be asked to audition for Gifted 2008, which is to be held at the city's Council House on 17 October.
The event will be hosted by the Danielle Beccan Memorial Trust, which was set up after the 14-year-old was shot in St Ann's in October 2004.
The organisers say "anyone with talent" is welcome to audition for the show.
When the trust was set-up, Danielle's family and friends aimed to build a new £500,000 centre for performing arts in St Ann's. The trust has already raised about £125,000.
Danielle's mother, Paula Platt, said fundraising was difficult in the current financial climate and that the trust's focus was now on community-based events, such as the talent show.
"The trust has always wanted to challenge the territorialism and division among some of our young people in the city," she said.
"We think this is one way of bringing them together and showing what talent there is."
One of the organisers, Mayurie Jani from the Community Recording Studios in St Ann's, said young people could apply for auditions which would be held on 18 September.
"We are looking for anyone with talent, from singing to juggling," she said.
Junior Andrews and Mark Kelly were jailed for life for Danielle's murder in 2005.
