Appeal to save boy with leukaemia

The family of a young boy with cancer have thanked those attended a clinic which could help save his life.

Joel Picker-Spence, six, from Farndon near Newark, has leukaemia and a marrow transplant is the only option left, as he cannot have any more chemotherapy.

Hundred of people came to the clinic, organised by the Anthony Nolan Trust, at Kelham Hall in Newark on Thursday to find him a bone marrow donor.

It will be a month before doctors can say whether a match has been found.
