Man charged over cannabis factory

A man has been charged in connection with the discovery of a cannabis factory in Nottinghamshire.

Thang Nguyen, 48, of no fixed address, has been charged with producing cannabis after police raided the factory in Jacksdale.

Four other Nottinghamshire men, aged between 25 and 28, a 34-year-old Hucknall man and a 20-year-old foreign national have been released on bail.

Officers seized 3,000 plants in the raid on Barrows Hill Lane.

The case was adjourned until 15 August and Mr Nguyen was remanded in custody after an appearance at Mansfield Magistrates Court on Friday.

Electrical equipment worth £250,000 was confiscated by police who also found living quarters, complete with a gym, at the site.

The raid was sparked by an anonymous tip-off to Crimestoppers.
