More arrests after serious attack

Police have arrested three more people in connection with a serious assault in Nottingham which left a 21-year-old man critically injured.

Two men and a women were arrested after three men in a Ford Mondeo car were attacked by a group of about 10 to 15 men on Tuesday in The Meadows.

Two men in the car escaped uninjured, but the third occupant suffered serious head injuries.

Six youths who had earlier been arrested were released on police bail.

The two men remained in custody on Thursday evening and were still being questioned, but the woman was released on bail.

The injured man remains in a critical condition at the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham.

Police believe the two groups of men may have known each other and that it was a targeted attack.

The scene was cordoned off while a forensic examination was carried out.

Police are appealing for information about the attack.
