Six arrests following gang attack

Six youths have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and violent disorder following a gang attack in Nottingham.

Three men in a Ford Mondeo car were attacked by a group of about 10 to 15 other men on Oxbow Close in The Meadows on Tuesday afternoon.

Two men in the car managed to escape uninjured, but the other occupant suffered serious head injuries.

The 21-year-old man is said to be in a critical condition in hospital.

Police believe the two groups of men may have known each other and that it was a targeted attack.

Officers conducted door-to-door inquiries in the area and have appealed for anyone with any information to contact them.

The scene was cordoned off to allow for a forensic examination to be carried out.
