Fire leads to school evacuation

About 1,500 staff, pupils and members of the public have been evacuated from a Nottinghamshire school after a fire.

Three fire engines were called out to the Dukeries school in New Ollerton near Newark just after midday.

Fans used to cool down the drama studios overheated during rehearsals of a play. A day centre in the area also had to be cleared.

No one was injured in the incident and damage is believed to be slight. The school reopened later in the day.
