A 61-year-old man has been given an interim anti-social behaviour order for tormenting his neighbours in a north Nottinghamshire town.
John Norman, from Woodland Drive, Mansfield, was handed the interim order after the council received more than 100 complaints about his behaviour.
These included claims he played "Born in the USA" by Bruce Springsteen repeatedly at top volume for hours.
He is forbidden to cause harassment, nuisance or alarm to his neighbours.
Norman is due back before Mansfield Magistrates' Court on 10 June.
Mansfield District Council advised the couple living next door to keep a diary of all the problems they experienced since early January.
Neighbour Robert Papp-Burnett said: "You would think you were approaching the safety of your own home, your own privacy, your own personal space.
"But we've not had that, we've not had our own privacy, because he's always waiting and watching, ready to call out a name, call my partner names."
An anti-social behaviour team spokeswoman said: "This is a lovely couple who wouldn't do anybody any harm.
"They really get on with everybody else and they've just had their life made intolerable by this man's obsession with harassing them."
Kate Allsop from Mansfield District Council said: "It's important that we have zero tolerance on litter, and we have zero tolerance on anti-social behaviour.
"And we work very hard with our officers to make sure police live in Mansfield, where they should, in harmony."
