A jury has been told a man fire-bombed two houses in the space of five hours, endangering the lives of eight people.

The first attack was on a house in St Ann's in Nottingham in March 2007. Three people were inside at the time.

A few hours later another house nearby was also petrol-bombed. Five people had to be rescued by fire crews.

Andrew James Stafford, 25, is accused of deliberately starting the fire with intent to endanger life. He denies being involved.

The case at Nottingham Crown Court continues.
