Axe wielding men rob restaurant

Three masked men threatened staff in a fast food restaurant in Nottingham before stealing £1,200 in cash.

The men went into McDonalds on Sir John Robinson Way, Arnold, at about 2230 BST on Tuesday.

One of the robbers went up to the counter and threatened staff with an axe. He then took cash from the till.

No-one was hurt in the robbery. Det Ch Insp Rob Severn asked anyone with information about the incident to contact police.

"I appeal to those involved in this offence and those people who know the offenders to recognise the potential for serious consequences in this kind of criminality," he said.
