Woman, 88, is attacked in street

An 88-year-old woman has been attacked and robbed as she walked along a Nottingham street.

The victim was grabbed from behind and pulled to the floor by the offender near the Park Inn Hotel on Mansfield Road, Sherwood, on Monday morning.

He stole a carrier bag containing an undisclosed amount of money.

Officers said the woman sustained a graze to her leg and was treated by paramedics at the scene of the incident on Mansfield Road in Sherwood.

Police said she was shaken by the incident.

The offender was white, 6ft (1.82m) tall and wore a blue top and khaki trousers.
