City to start graffiti clean-up
A two-week campaign has started to reduce graffiti in Nottingham as part of the city's Big Spring Clean.

Anyone who sees graffiti being painted or sprayed around the city is being asked to report the incident to the city council.

Council spokesman Tony Papkiewicz said graffiti is often part of "turf wars" between different groups.

"A lot of this is probably frustration, it can also be turf wars...where people are kind of marking their territory."

"People in the city, around Nottingham, don't want to see graffiti, it's not something that is an art, it is a crime and we're really going to be active in actually cutting down on this type of graffiti."

People caught applying graffiti face prosecution and a maximum fine of £5,000.
