Leisure centre closure 'approved'
Victoria Leisure Centre
The building is more than 150 years old
Plans to close a leisure centre in Nottingham as part of an 18m redevelopment scheme have been approved in principle by senior councillors.

The city council said the Victoria Leisure Centre building, more than 150 years old, was no longer viable and a replacement centre was too expensive.

But campaigners want to keep the Sneinton centre open and are planning a public demonstration on 1 March.

A final decision on the plans will be made on 18 March.
