Woman, 75, hurt in street attack

A 75-year-old woman was seriously hurt when she was attacked and robbed in a Nottinghamshire town.

The woman was walking home from work along Leeming Street, Mansfield, early on Sunday morning.

As she entered Weston Avenue a man tried to grab her handbag. When she refused to let go she was pulled to the floor, seriously injuring her hip.

Police are looking for a white man in a black hooded top. They also want to speak to two men who were seen nearby.
