Counterfeit cigarettes are seized
Millions of counterfeit cigarettes thought to be headed for Nottinghamshire have been seized by HM Customs and Excise officers.

More than four million cigarettes were found in a consignment at Felixstowe docks. They arrived in a freight container from China.

The load was described as "tissues and napkin paper".

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) put the loss of tax on the haul at more than 800,000. No arrests have been made.

HMRC spokeswoman Jennie Kendall said: "We believe these cigarettes would have been sold cheaply on the streets of Nottingham and the surrounding areas."
