Plans to regenerate a former pit village in Nottinghamshire have been given the go-ahead.
Developers the Quantum Consortium will build affordable homes and refurbish 38 derelict houses in Warsop Vale as part of the £5m scheme.
The ten new two-bedroom bungalows will also meet the government's eco-homes benchmark for environmental sustainability, a spokesman said.
The homes will be available for rent and sale through shared ownership.
New homes
"This scheme will breathe new life into the village and will appeal to a broad range of future residents," said Jim Patman from East Midlands Housing, part of the Quantum Consortium.
The village sits next to the former Warsop colliery and is made up of 212 owner-occupied and private sector rented properties, many in a poor state of repair.
The Quantum Consortium consists of four development members - LHA-ASRA, East Midlands Housing, Derwent Living and Amber Valley Housing.
In addition to refurbishment, 129 new homes will be built over the next four years.
