Life sentence for fatal stabbing
Daniel Williams
Daniel Williams suffered fatal stab wounds to his heart and left lung
A man has been sentenced to life in prison for a fatal knife attack outside a block of flats in Nottingham.

Daniel Williams, 20, was stabbed to death in March last year by 24-year-old Cornelius Messam after an argument outside Pine View flats in Radford.

Messam, from Nottingham, had denied murder but was found guilty at Nottingham Crown Court on Thursday. He will serve a minimum of 16 years.

Judge John Milmo QC said Messam had paid a heavy price for carrying knives.

"You had chosen to get into an argument with Mr Williams and it appears, because you became worse off, you produced a weapon," he said.

"I am satisfied that you decided to teach him a lesson and reap your revenge for problems you had shared in the past."
