Murder hunt after woman's death
A murder inquiry is under way after the body of a woman was discovered at a property in Nottinghamshire.

The elderly woman, in her 70s, was found dead at the house on West Hill at Skegby at 0945 GMT on Thursday.

The area was cordoned off and the road closed while forensic experts examined the scene.

House-to-house inquiries were being carried out. Detectives appealed for witnesses to contact Nottinghamshire Police or Crimestoppers.

A post-mortem examination was due to take on place on Friday, police said.
