Balloon protest against wind farm
Campaigners who are fighting plans for a wind farm in Nottinghamshire have released hundreds of balloons to highlight their cause.

They want developers to reconsider their proposals to build seven turbines near Eakring and Bilsthorpe.

They have released 470 balloons in Eakring - one for every letter of objection sent to Newark and Sherwood District Council.

The council's planning committee will discuss the proposals on 7 November.

Protesters say the seven proposed 110m (363ft) high turbines will "blight" the villages.

Four are planned for the former Bilsthorpe Colliery site and three are proposed for nearby farmland.

Residents say all seven turbines will be visible from Eakring.
