Congestion warning on city route
The A52
The A52 is used by thousands of motorists every day
Drivers travelling around Nottingham and Derby are being warned of weeks of possible disruption as one of the region's busiest roads is dug up.

Resurfacing on the A52 between Bramcote Island and the Priory Roundabout begins on Saturday and will continue for a period of five weeks.

There will be restrictions from 0930 to 1530 BST on weekdays and from 0700 until 2200 BST at weekends.

Motorists have been asked to use other routes if possible.

Jim Allcock, from the Highways Agency, said: "This is essential work which must be done this year to prevent further deterioration of this important route into Nottingham.

"We expect delays on the diversion routes and on other local roads, so we advise drivers to leave plenty of extra time for their journeys and to consider alternative routes or time of travel if possible."
