Dual carriageway roadworks begin
Work is beginning on an £4.8m resurfacing project for the A1 in Nottinghamshire on Monday.

A 40mph speed limit will be imposed on the affected stretch of the A1 between Balderton and Coddington near Newark during the work.

One lane of each side of the dual carriageway will shut until 28 May, when the scheme is due to be completed.

The old concrete carriageways will be replaced and the central reservation and drainage will be improved.

The Highways Agency said the work would make for quieter conditions for both motorists and local residents.
