A suspect has been arrested at Heathrow Airport in connection with the shooting of a policewoman in Nottingham.
Pc Rachael Bown, 23, was attacked as she attempted to stop a man near the scene of a break-in on Monday night.
Police arrested Trevon Kyron Thomas, 24, from Bilborough in Nottingham, after they boarded a plane at Heathrow Airport at 1100 GMT.
He was taken to a Nottingham police station on Friday evening where he will be questioned later, police said.
Interviewed by detectives
Pc Bown, a probationary officer, was shot in the abdomen below her stab vest.
A Nottinghamshire Police spokeswoman said: "This morning the Metropolitan Police arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with the shooting of Pc Rachael Bown.

"He was arrested at Heathrow Airport. He is the man Nottinghamshire detectives have been keen to trace and whose details were issued to the public earlier today.
"Those details have previously been circulated to all police forces and law enforcement agencies across the country."
Emergency surgery
Pc Bown is said to be recovering well at the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham after a second operation to treat a gunshot wound.
She is in a serious but stable condition in intensive care after the one-hour operation on Thursday.
The policewoman is also being treated for a chest infection but should not require any more surgery, the clinical director at the Queens Medical Centre said.
She first underwent emergency surgery at the Nottingham hospital in the early hours of Tuesday.
